2025 Nominations at
the May membership meeting

Commander:

1st Vice:

2nd Vice:

Finance:

Executive Committee:

The position of Commander is by no means an easy one. In short, it takes more than just wearing a Commander’s hat, and only a few people really know the time it takes. We all know that previous Post Commanders did not do a lot of things they should have for one reason or another and it almost got the Post shut-down. In his mid-term, Walt Skibicki began the long process of recovery and we all owe him our thanks. For years, many Commanders did not follow the National and State Constitution or By-Laws, but those are strictly followed today. A Commander’s success is only possible with the support of his/her fellow Post officers, both elected and appointed.

Commanders must also develop relationships and have the support of the officers of the 26th District as well as the Department of Pennsylvania’s officials. That takes effort, and it is enormously important to attend the County Council meetings, 26th District Meetings, Western Section Meetings, Department Executive Committee meetings and Department, and National Conventions. Every Commander is the face, and the voice of the Post. Winning an election puts you in everyone’s crosshairs, while members look to you for advice and guidance, while cynics look to criticize. Commanders and officers are expected to, and must always conduct themselves professionally, because they represent every member in their Post, and The American Legion.

Art VII By-Laws

Section 3. The election shall be held  during the regularly scheduled Post  meeting in June.
The By-Laws have NOT changed.
Past elections were not following the By-Laws! This election will be done according to National, Department AND Post By-Laws.
